The Climbing Wall Association, Inc. (CWA) has developed consensus standards for climbing wall instructors and climbing wall instructor trainers. The committee responsible for developing and maintaining the CWA climbing wall instructor certification standards is called the CWA Climbing Wall Instructor Certification Standards Committee.
Certification Standards are intended to promote insdustry self-regulation and assist owner/operators of climing facilities in the management and operation of those facilities by establishing consistent, observable, and minimum criteria for evaluating climbing wall instructors. CWA certifications standards pertain to technical skills and teaching of technical climbing skills only.
