What is the Climbing Wall Summit?

The 2010 Climbing Wall Summit is the climbing industry's only professional development conference. Join us for the most powerful gathering of leaders, manufacturers, climbing wall owners, managers, and staff in the field of climbing sports.

The Summit brings attendees together to network, collaborate, learn, and more effectively tap into the immense potential of manufactured wall climbing. The event provides a forum for learning from expert faculty and your peers. Workshops will cover a variety of topics and will be designed to meet your needs.

The Climbing Wall Summit is the only international event that offers attendees:

  • Outstanding speakers;
  • Job specific training, education, and professional development;
  • Networking and meetings with industry colleagues, experts, peers, and friends;
  • Workshops focused on managing your facility more effectively;
  • Current information on important topics, tools, and techniques;
  • Innovative business models and practical ideas that help improve your bottom line;
  • Product demonstrations;
  • Time to explore the area, local venues, and Boulder's world-class climbing areas; and
  • A chance to rejuvenate yourself!

What does the Climbing Wall Summit look like?

The first day of the 2010 Summit offers half-day and full-day workshops, climbing activities, a keynote address and opening reception to honor our sponsors. The second, third, and fourth days offer workshops concerning research and trends, business development, marketing, retail development, climbing instruction, standards, risk management, and responsible climbing wall operations. Each day features special events, activities, entertainment, and gatherings for attendees.

Members of the climbing industry at large should also attend: association representatives, manufacturers, distributors, competition organizers, coaches, instructors, and guides. When is the Climbing Wall Summit?

The 2010 Climbing Wall Summit will be held in Boulder, Colorado from Thursday, May 13th through Sunday, May 16th. Pre-Conference workshops and the opening reception will be scheduled on May 13 and conference workshops and other activities will be held on May 14, 15, and 16.

Where is the Climbing Wall Summit?

The 2010 Climbing Wall Summit will be held in Boulder, Colorado. Boulder features outstanding rock climbing and three world-class climbing facilities: Movement Climbing and Fitness, The Boulder Rock Club and The Spot Bouldering Gym.

The University Memorial Center (UMC) on the University of Colorado's campus will serve as the venue for this year's Summit. This new venue is much larger than the Boulder Outlook and offers a secure, dedicated exhibit space, climate-controlled rooms, more seating, and more flexibility.

Where should I stay?

The CWA has secured group rates at the Boulder Outlook Hotel and the Boulder Inn. Book fast, these rates only last until mid-April!

The Boulder Outlook Hotel, a zero-waste hotel, will serve as the venue for the Climbing Wall Summit once again. The hotel offers guest accommodations, ample workshop and meeting space, a pool, an indoor bouldering feature, common areas for relaxation and networking, and a new restaurant on the premises.

Prominently located directly across from CU, the Boulder Inn gives guests easy access to the city's principal attractions, premier shopping, and fabulous dining. During your visit, enjoy our complimentary continental breakfast, free in-room high speed internet access, and 24-hour business center. Other guest facilities include a large seasonal outdoor pool, sauna, hot tub, and conference center.

How do I get to the conference?

Located just 30 miles from the Denver International Airport, Boulder is easily accessible by car, bus and shuttle. We are currently working to secure group shuttle rates with Boulder Super Shuttle. Many hotels also offer discouted rates through various shuttle services. The A/B RTD bus makes frequent trips from DIA to Boulder and there are several rental car services at the airport.
